Live musical concerts, strolling clowns, and 150 artists' displays annually fill the riverfront late in June. Artwork is judged and juried, and visitors can enjoy the colorful displays as well as a series of scheduled activities. Musical entertainment has included performances by Spyro Gyra and the Des Moines Symphony. Nationally recognized as one of the country's top festivals, the Des Moines Art Festival has attracted over 200,000 attendees, and it continues to grow in popularity.
